We refer to the news article appearing in the New Straits Times on 13 August 2008, captioned as above, in particular the sentences as reproduced below:

"Mahmud said the exchange has been working closely with the Malaysia Derivatives Exchange, where the crude palm oil futures are traded, as it wants to use Malaysia's trading system for Indonesia's spot CPO contract. A cooperation contract between the two exchanges is expected to be signed this year, he said."

Bursa Malaysia wishes to clarify that it is continuously seeking to explore and initiate viable business opportunities which will benefit and create value for the Company. In line with this, it will continue to evaluate any potential opportunities with potential strategic partners.

In this respect, Bursa Malaysia and Jakarta Futures Exchange have been in discussions to explore potential business collaboration by both exchanges. No terms have been agreed upon by both parties. Bursa Malaysia will make necessary announcement should there be any significant corporate development on this matter.
