We refer to the news article appearing in the Star, Starbiz, page 3 on Friday, 23 December 2005, in particular, the following sentence:
" Bursa Malaysia Bhd ?.expects net profit for fiscal year ending Dec 31 to meet analysts' forecast of around RM80mil to RM85mil"
We wish to clarify that in response to a query raised during the 22 December 2005 media briefing on the analysts' prediction that Bursa's net profit for 2005 would be about RM80-85 million, Bursa's Chief Executive Officer, En Yusli Mohamed Yusoff merely mentioned that Bursa hopes to be able to achieve the predicted figure.
In this respect, Bursa did not confirm the prediction by the analysts. Bursa further wish to clarify that the statement by En Yusli is not a presentation of revenue or profit estimate, forecast or projection.
We trust the above clarifies the matter.
